2023 Year In Review

I had a nice theatrical 2023! There were 123 productions of my ten-minute plays, one-minute plays and — for the first time ever — a full-length! Notable events include:

  • The World Premiere of my first full-length, “Save Hamlet”, at Laboratory Theatre of Florida.  And there were three other productions of it at various schools.
  • “LA 8 AM” was produced at The Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
  • “Didn’t See That Coming” (a full evening of my shorts) was produced at Aberdeen Community Theatre, Southbank Theatre Co. (in my current city of Indianapolis!), by Club 529 in Attica, Greece (a new country for me), and touring Iowa with XFade Productions.
  • “Sketch Book”, an evening of my short plays that all take place outside, had its first (and second) production at high schools this year.
  • I attended the Midwest Dramatists Conference, and met lots of nice folks. There was a reading of my play “Not Like Us” which got a good response.
  • Including school productions, I had eight evenings of my short plays produced – I think that’s the most I’ve ever had in a year.
  • “The Rental” and “Superhero” opened in 2023 and will continue through 2024 in Bucharest, Romania.
  • Several theaters put more than one of my plays in their evenings — especially Madlab Theatre of Columbus, OH who produced four of my plays.
  • I had 6 World Premieres in 2023, mostly one minute plays.
