2019 – It Was Ordained!

2019 saw the World Premiere of my play “Ordained”, at the Playwrights Round Table in Orlando, FL.  “Ordained” went on to have seven productions in 2019 alone.  And is already slated for its first 2020 production as part of Acme Theatre’s New Works Winter Festival.

Other notable events:

  • There were productions of my plays in India, Italy, Canada, Australia, England, as well as around the US.
  • Arete Ensemble did multiple productions of my play Misfortune, Scripted and The Rental in Giovinazzo, Italy.
  • A play for Middle School students, “What Was I Thinking?” was commissioned and produced by Cape Henry Collegiate School in Virginia Beach, VA.
  • “In The Jar” won the “Audience Favorite” award at GreenMan Theatre Troups “8 to the Bar” Festival in Elmhurst, IL.
  • “Oy Vey Maria” was published in the Best Ten Minute Plays of 2019 by Smith & Kraus.
  • “A Birthday Party” was published in Best Women’s Monologues of 2019 and “A Little Fresh Air” was published in “Best Men’s Monologues by Smith & Kraus
  • “Ordained” marked my 16th straight appearance in the Colonial Playhouse’s Colonial Quickies Festival in Philadelpia, PA
  • The Colonial Playhouse also produced four of my holiday plays as part of their Holiday Extravaganza.
  • “Only A Matter Of Time” and “Opening Line” were my 32nd and 33rd productions in Gone In 60 Seconds, the one minute play festival that takes place in Brooklyn, NY and Leeds, ENGLAND.  I’ve had at least one play in every year of the festival since 2005.
  • “Ordained” also appeared in the Minnesota Shorts Play Festival, the tenth consecutive time I’ve appeared in that festival.
  • “Ordained” and “Filthy Rich” appeared in Asphalt Jungle Shorts, a site-specific festival in Kitchener, CANADA, marking the 13th and 14th plays I’ve had in this very cool festival.
  • “Scripted” won both 1st Place (Judges Award) and Audience Favorite at Tipping Point Theatre’s Sandbox Play Festival in Northville, MI.
